Mahatma Gandhi Smarak Davakhanu

In 1952 the people of village Thamna built this davakhanu & handed over it to the Government authorities to run it properly. Till 1980-82 this davakhanu was running well as Primary Health Centre. At that time there wer three buildings built by the people of Thamna & today the same is still in healthy condition while the two buildings built by the Government authorities are in a bad shape and are not in a position to renovate it.

To run the davakhanu in a proper and good manner we have taken it over from the government authority and is given to the Thamna Health & Education trust to run it under the supervison of Sarpanch Shri Chndrakant Patel. Thamna Health & Education Trust account is being saperated in to two parts and given the saperate name as Health Fund & Education Fund. Renovation work in the davakhana is in progress. First of all we have started to build a wall and a gate which is almost at the verge of finish. The three old buildings what was build according to the need 1952 which requires renovation and colour work. Necessary medicines and eqipments for the davakhana for one year (till march 2011) is being donated by Adityabhai Himabhai Patel Trust and being supplied as required and orderd by the doctor concern.

To run this davakhanu we have big fund needed. We need one pathological laboratory for blood test for maleria, dengue,typhoid etc and work in this direction is in progress.

Also we need donation to have 16 bed modern ward.

On 22nd August there was a jilla ramatotsav at Karamsad organised by Anand District Senior Citizens Federation and Cenior Citizen Forum Of Karamsad. Senior Citizen Foram Thamna & Vayask MAhila Sangathan took parts in various game competition. Shri Chandrakant Shanabhai Patel won the first prize in memory game and Smt. Savitaben Vitthalbhai Dalwadi got the second prize in Limbu Chamcho.

Presently everyone is busy making their pan card as it is compulsory for the bank account holders to save 20% tax deduction as per Central Government Law. Those who are living abroad and having Bank Account in Indian Centralised Bank should arrange to get pancard.

Senior Citizen Cricket Cup Day-Night cricket tournament raised nett Rs.171000/which distributed to the following institutions of Thamna.Rs.50000/ for medical care to Thamna Dawakhana, Rs.25000/ Kamnath Mahadev Trust, 51000/ Arjun Sahdev Balmandir & 45000/ Thamna Health & Education Trust.

Construction work at Kamnath Mahadev parisar reach to second floor now. First slab is being completed. Now one side plaster work for the shops and other side Colum work and cantering for the second floor is in progress. Two side stairs to climb first floor been completed. Soon electrical work and shutter work will start. We hoop to complete the project as per schedule time provided how the financial flow will be and how the rainy season giving time.
